Don’t Forget Who You Are

I am here to complete one primary assignment:  I am here to encourage you!

Hebrews 3:13 (AMP) But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the trickery which the delusive glamor of his sin may play on him].

Proverbs 3:5-6

Proverbs 18:10

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Psalm 46:1-3 …God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.   Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;  Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Psalm 118:14-16 The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.  The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.

We know we should not be discouraged, but we don’t know how.

We get discouraged, when we forget!

Don’t forget who you are.

1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

1.  Don’t  forget what kind of people you are (v.9).

2.  Don’t forget what your purpose is: to show His praises (v.9).

3.  Don’t forget what has happened to you (v.10).

A chosen generation …  The Greek words actually mean a chosen or elect race. Peter takes the term from the Old Testament where God stated the same thing about Israel.

“My people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself” (Isaiah 43:20-21).

The idea is that of a new race of people, a new species that differs entirely from the other races upon earth. God is actually creating a new race of people upon earth.

God is implanting His divine nature within believers. We are born again.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Peter 1:23).

“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him” (1 John 5:1).

We receive a renewed mind.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit [mind] the things of the Spirit” (Romans 8:5).

God Renew our mind, lest we forget!
