We’re sure it’s God’s will for us to be healed because if there had never
been any sin, there wouldn’t have been any sickness or death. The
products of sin cannot be the will of God. Some would say, “Are you
saying I’m sick because I’ve sinned?”No.
The Bible says, “Death passed upon all men for that all have sinned.”
(Romans 5:12) Death is on the planet because sin is here, and whether
you knowingly violated laws or whether we just ignorantly didn’t resist
death, it is here because of sin or disobedience. Death
passed upon all humans because all have sinned. Sickness is the result
of Adam’s sin, but the same Jesus who was beaten and died for our sins
took the stripes on his back that bought not only our redemption from
hell but also our redemption from sickness, weakness and pain. We’ve got
just as much right to be healed as we do to be forgiven.Remember
in James 5:14-15 when he said, “Is there any sick among you? Let him
call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing
him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall
save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he hath committed
sins, they shall be forgiven him.” –Forgiven and healed, in the same prayer. In
the United States today there are around 89,739 people who are alive
and over 100 years old. We’ve learned what God has done for one person,
he can do for another. He said in Psalms 91:16 With long life he would satisfy us and show us his salvation. Our lives are to be a witness of God’s goodness. If we belong to Jesus we can look to him for hope.2
Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.God
doesn’t want us to perish in any way. The next time symptoms of
sickness, pain or weakness try to manifest themselves in your body,
don’t embrace them as your own. It isn’t your diabetes or your aching
back. Discomfort was never part of our redemption package. Symptoms are a
work of the outlaw enemy trying to make us sick. While we can’t ignore
them or pretend they don’t exist, we can submit our body to God and
command the source of pain leave us in Jesus name.Developing in our faith or confidence in God’s provision is a process. The more we step out in faith the stronger we grow.
