John 14:2 — But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
In the age we live in, people are marveling at AI, ChatGPT, and Copilot. Computer-assisted programs are changing the way the world works and interacts. Some are allowing AI software programs to form their emails, social media posts, and do their work. Using technology to make our work easier and more efficient is common practice. Perhaps you have used it to generate your own social media posts.
Long before technology, when Jesus was preparing His disciples for the day He would leave to go to the Father, He promised His disciples that He would send another Comforter, the Holy Spirit.
John 16:13-14 — Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.
God, our Heavenly Father, has given us the Holy Spirit to teach and train us. Have you ever heard the saying, “The anointing breaks the yoke of bondage?” In Luke 4:18, Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
That same Spirit that anointed Jesus and the disciples to do great things also lives in us. He was sent to us as God’s gift to His children. There is no good reason why we can’t take advantage of this free gift.
Matthew 7:7-8 — Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
Those were Jesus’ words, and they are true today. The same Holy Spirit that transformed you when you asked God to forgive your sins is the same Holy Spirit that is trying to get your attention today. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit to guide Him and anoint Him to do the work God sent Him to do, how much more do we need the Holy Spirit’s ministry in and through us?
In Ephesians 5, we are encouraged to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Our fellowship with God depends on us yielding ourselves to the Holy Spirit’s anointing.
